Rowan is ostensibly a shopkeeper, but he has trouble staying in behind the counter for long, unless he's working to understand a particularly mysterious item he found in some room.  As a result, he often leaves the shop in the hands of his daughter while he explores ancient sites or negotiates deals for salvage.

He's able to handle himself quite well in dangerous situations, but often gets himself in over his head.  He recently completed a trip to Theladris which required the assistance of a band of heroes after being beset by a vampire.  Yet he walked out with a potent, albeit unfinished artifact in his possession to study.
