Description
Campion is a kind and generous diety who wants his followers to embrace the good life. This means good food, drink, friendship, and knowledge. Our bonds as a society are built together through our common cultures.
Aesthetics and taste isn't arbitrary to followers of Campion. The Church does recognize that individuals are entitled to their own preferences; but some things are objectively better than others. A well prepared dish represents time, skill, knowledge, commitment, and care. Thus learning to develop "good taste" in all aspects of culture is considered a virtue.
Temples of Campion tend to provide some sort of public service, though they vary in regions. In the city of Solstice, this takes the form of a major university. In other places they have of large public gardens and libraries. In all cases, they provide free meals on holy days.
Priests of Campion are always highly literate and are required to pass rigorous examinations in the areas of food, drink, and knowledge of history and culture. Typically they will have a specialization within these areas, but are expected to have a wide range of talents and an appreciation for all aspects of the faith.
Campion tends to get along best with Saeval, despite feeling that the other god neglects community. He holds common ground with Ameir, but is suspicious of Reima. Campion tends to be suspicious of most gods that reject order and civilization, promote a radically individualistic perspective, or are outright destructive.
