College of Engineering

Hartfell is home to a college of engineering, founded by a group of gnomish refugees who fled to the area two centuries ago.  Some notable innovations from the college:

• Improvements in mechanisms to redirect the flow of rivers and building canals

• Advanced siege machinery, notably fast-loading trebuchets 

• Innovative new forms of high impact and repeating crossbows

While the college works with arcanely enchanted materials, their studies are traditionally focused on mundane physics rather than the art of enchantment.  That said, in recent decades professors have begun to study Arcane Physics, considering ways to take advantage of magical items like portable holes or immovable rods to construct machinery that would otherwise be impossible.
