Overview
For nearly twenty years, Sir Gareth Galebreak served as the High Fury of the Stormguard. He was considered a legendary berserker. Most famously, he entered into a Tournament of the Hydra and was a war hero and namesake of the War of Shattered Thunder.
The manor is on the banks of the Sunstream river and is fairly well maintained. Sir Gareth has lived in the home alone since he inherited it from his family, but has kept a small staff on board to maintain the property. During his time as High Fury he would host regular parties and feasts, but since his retirement he's been a more modest and stoic figure. Few have entered the manor since then, and it is now viewed with deep suspicion.

History
Sir Gareth Galebreak
Retired Hero
The previous High Fury of the Stormguard and war hero of the Valian League, now deceased.
Sir Gareth first made his mark as a young knight of the Stormguard when he fought in a Hydra tournament, entering as a lone contestant. He emerged victorious, an act that has not been repeated since then. He was regarded as the greatest swordsman of the vale, and quickly came to serve as High Fury of the Stormguard.
Twenty seven years ago he was a decisive figure in the conflict against the giants of Korrundor. This territorial dispute over a temple on the edge of Valian lane led to a war, known to the giants as "The War of Stolen Memory." During this fight, he led a flying strike team to assault the Aether Citadel and did battle with Drakarn Stormfist himself. Most of the team was killed; in the end only he and Eleanor Hart survived. Sir Gareth shattered the giant's great maul before slaying him, raining shards of steel across the battlefield. This led to the Valian name for the conflict: "The War of Shattered Thunder."
During times of peace he prepared his men for war, and always participated in Hartfell's tournaments. He was a devoted follower of Vari, and held raucous and wild parties among the nobility. He was known to have many lovers during this time, but never had children or a family.
About six years ago, he was challenged to a Duel of the Rose by a young knight who hoped to make his mark. Even in his older age, Gareth defeated him. Shortly after he retired from his post as the High Fury of the Stormguard. He stated that it was time for young new leadership to step up, and the position was filled by Olivia Ashcroft. He took some time to travel around the Vale, and then settled into a solitary life in Galebreak Manor.
In the years since his retirement he grew increasingly reserved, quiet, and isolated. When his name came up it was spoken of with honor, though such talks often ended with speculation about what broke this great man. More often though, he simply was ignored. Since his death, people have spoken of him with great pride and the city has honored him with a massive public funeral at the Ardent Summit and held a tournament in his honor.
