Overview
The third largest faith found in Hartfell is Saeval, whose worship of art and beauty resonates with many residents of Hartfell. As with all temples of the faith, it is covered in greenery that disregards the season. Inside, it is always Springtime.
This simple chapel is known as the Verdant Bastion, as it is the only temple of the faith this close to the Cinderfall Forest and Fields of Ash.
People
Lyric
Priest of Saeval
Lyric has long acted as the head priest of the Verdant Bastion, a duty he holds with equal parts seriousness and whimsy. He is originally from Solstice, and at times acts like Hartfell is a bit below him - not cultured enough, and dreadfully boring. But in truth, he enjoys a quiet life puntuated by moments of excitement. He'd rather write a a great novel than be a part of it, and is happy to let the adventurers take the lead.
"It's never too late to bloom; there's always another Spring."
Sylvaris Greensong
Legendary Hero of Saeval
The walls of this chapel depict the image of Sylvaris Greensong, a famous hero of Saeval born to Hartfell. He is noted mostly for his musical ability. He wielded the violin Heartstringand was the bearer of the armor Ivy and Envy. His most notable achievement was defeating an entire symphony in a musical contest at Gardensong in Solstice. He went missing
Jonas Thistlewood
Acolyte of Saeval
A quiet teenager who grew up in the town of Silverstone. He had considered the clergy during his youth, studying briefly under Dolan Stone. But his faith has always been with Saeval, and his family lacked the funds to send him elsewhere for training. When he was brought to Hartfell as a refugee, Lyric noticed his natural talent: his elegy for Blythe Willowbrook caused flowers to grow atop her grave. Since then, he has served as Lyric's acolyte and begun to train as a priest of Saeval.
Blythe Willowbrook
Herbalist (Deceased)
Blythe lived a quiet life in Silverstone, until the town was overrun by embers. She was one of the few survivors of the attack, and travelled with the refugees toward Hartfell. When they were ambushed by the satyrs of the Blazing Revel, she took an arrow to the heart, killing her instantly.
The heroes of Silverstone brought her body to the the Verdant Bastion, where she was properly laid to rest. She was remembered in the traditional way:
Two poems, one written by Orin Briar and one recited from memory by Seran Aerondight.
A song, sung by Jonas Thistlewood, celebrating her life's work of nurturing life and nature's beauty
A story told by Payarus Oloxian of how she provided aid in a difficult time
